Our Vision
We endeavour to
breed with ‘passion’, the perfect Carcase breed animal with
the best meat yield (slaughter percentage and meat bone ratio)
and tender beef, in terms of our “Mission” for the following
markets:
using the highest
standards of quality control with the best management
techniques:
on a profitable and
sustainable
basis which will add value to our customers, employees and
owners.

Our Mission (Short Term)
We strive to breed
well-adapted, medium framed, functionally efficient Limousins,
right type with good conformation, muscling, hair coat and
temperament.
We put our veld animals under
pressure with high intensive, non-selective grazing systems
using electric fencing, and they must perform and be fertile
in this harsh environment.
Cows must be
feminine and fertile with excellent milk and udder, which
calve easily.
Bulls must be
masculine, with broad muscling over the withers and length of
back. Hindquarters should be wide, long, full and fleshy. A
large uniform pair of testes and fine sheath should be
visible.
In addition,
we must understand and know our market and get close to the
commercial breeder and consumer, listen to them and provide a
good after sales service and communication. We can achieve
this by trying to breed the ideal carcase with an Angus cross
(Limflex) which will result in an early maturing, beefy
animal, with enough fat, producing plump and tender beef.
We match each
animal’s genetic traits to achieve well-balanced breeding with
no extremes. Mature cow weight and birth weights should
be lowered slightly.
With regard to
marketing, our internet site needs to be continually updated
and our DVD shown and distributed to as many Commercial
Breeders and Role Players as possible.
Finally, we are involved in a mentorship
program and BEE initiative to help emerging farmers
throughout South Africa.
