Inspired by Johann Zietsman from Zimbabwe, we are now saving thousands of Rands by implementing an intensive, non-selective grazing system. 

The benefits are as follows:

• The animals are forced to eat everything non-selectively and it puts them under pressure to adapt and perform

• No cutting and baling is required – the animals do that for you

• No ripping is needed as the hooves of the animals aerate the soil

• No fertilizer costs as the urine and faeces fertilize naturally and restore the organisms and bacteria into the soil

• Weeds are controlled

• The animals are now trained and easy to manage in a small area

• The quality of the pastures are improved after a long rest period

• A single energizer can do up to 15km of electric fencing, very inexpensively

• The carrying capacity of the farm has more than doubled i.e. 96 heifers have taken 3 months to graze only 16ha of pasture
